Australian Karri

Reclaimed Australian karri wood. Karri is a dense, durable and strong hardwood native to Southwestern Australia. In 2022, PNWT acquired a significant amount of surplus karri from the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR). UPRR used the karri for boxcar flooring until they switched to aluminum grating when karri trees became protected in Australia. Karri has a hardness rating of 2030 on the Janka hardness scale (harder than hard maple or oak). It is 100% clear and straight with a lovely reddish-brown color tone.
